Zap Cats are amazingly light and powerful inflatable catamarans capable of pulling 3g around the turns. With a power to weight ratio of 340bhp per tonne, you have to have your wits about you as you're not just a passenger on this thing you're the co-pilot! You'll be responsible for balancing the boat for the turns on the sea, just like any catamaran, but at high speed - the expert driver pulls 90 and 180 degree turns at speeds of around 40mph. Not one for the faint-hearted!
Seeing as you'll be ripping it up over the high seas, you'll be wearing drysuits, lifejackets and helmets as safety is paramount for this high speed adventure as you push the limits in time trials for a zapcat experience that you will never forget.
Everyone will finish the day tired but with huge smiles! Grip tight and hang on, it'll be fast and fun.
Experience Content? You will spend approximately two hours at the beach, with each participant getting approximately 20 minutes in a Zap Cat. The Zap Cat experience is 1:1 with the instructor. Maximum group size is usually 12 with two Zap Cats being used. Because of the high performance of the boats participants are not allowed to drive the Zap Cats
Requirements: Maximum weight 20 stone with min/max height 4'10" to 6'4". The minimum age is 18.
Drysuits, gloves, wetsuit boots and helmets are provided, for this reason participants will need to provide height, weight and shoe size information when booking. Non swimmers accepted, but please inform the instructors on the day.
The experience is not suitable for pregnant women or anyone with serious back problems, fractures or heart complaints.
Participants are advised to bring a towel, sunscreen, bottled water and sunglasses with a lanyard. Warm, lightweight clothing is recommended.
Where? Blown Away venues are: West Sands-St Andrews, fife See Map, and East Sands, St Andrews are our main locations both are fairly central, well known and easy to get to.
